Aalyah Casson Car Accident, Felton Death: Woman Killed In Early-Morning Dover Single-Vehicle Crash

The community of Felton is mourning the reported death of 26-year-old Aalyah Casson, who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in nearby Dover in the early hours of Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The incident is under investigation by the Dover Police Department.

According to preliminary reports, officers responded at approximately 12:44 a.m. to the unit block of South New Street, just south of West Division Street, following reports of a serious collision. Upon arrival, authorities located a 2013 Nissan Murano that had left the roadway and struck a tree on the east side of the road.

Casson, a resident of Felton, was found inside the vehicle suffering from severe injuries. Police and emergency medical personnel rendered immediate life-saving assistance at the scene; however, she was later pronounced deceased due to the extent of her injuries.

Investigators stated that preliminary findings indicate Casson had been traveling westbound on West Division Street before turning onto South New Street. Authorities believe the vehicle entered the roadway at a high rate of speed, resulting in a loss of control before it left the roadway and collided with the tree. Officials also confirmed that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
